Shipping & Delivery
Spring Shipping Season Has Begun!
As temperatures warm up across the country, we’re starting to ship your plant orders. Ground shipping to the continental US saves you money, but our plants can only be sent out when they won't be frozen en route. And of course we don’t want to send plants to you if you’re not able to plant them. In areas where the ground is frozen, our bare-root plants will be safer waiting here at our nursery.
Our customer service staff will have contacted you with the ship date for your order. If the weather should change in your area--with freezing weather occurring later than you expect or bad weather predicted when your plants are scheduled to arrive--feel free to contact us and schedule a better ship date for your order. We’re happy to help. We want your plants, and you, to succeed in the garden.

SHIPPING INFORMATION
Our normal shipping season is from January through May. Most of our plants are shipped dormant and bare-root during this time. Many containerized plants can be shipped during the summer and fall - please call us for availability and details. We plan to provide up-to-date availability information on our site.
You may specify the approximate date you would like to receive your plants. While we cannot guarantee the exact date of delivery, we will do our best to get your order to you on the date desired. If you do not specify a date, we will ship your plants to arrive at the best planting time for your area.
We ship by USPS or Federal Express. Be sure to give us a street address, as most orders cannot be delivered to a P.O. Box.
Getting your plants to you in prime condition is very important to us. We have developed the following procedures and recommendations based on years of experience with the weather and with shipping companies. We store our bare-root plants under refrigeration so, regardless of where you live, you will receive them in optimum condition, dormant and ready to grow.

Shipping Schedule
West of the Cascade Mountains
(Western Oregon, Western Washington, and California)
We can ship your plants by ground service from January until
June 15, when temperatures are above freezing.
East of the Cascade Mountains - West of the Rocky Mountains
We begin our ground shipping approximately April 1st and continue to the end of May. We strive to get your plants to you at the appropriate planting time for your area. We monitor the weather conditions en-route to avoid damage from freezing.
East of the Rocky Mountains
We can ship by ground during the month of April. Because ground shipping time to the East Coast is often 7 days or more, dormant plants shipped in May can be forced into growth by hot weather en-route. When conditions are too hot for ground shipments, orders to east of the Rockies in May must be by Priority Mail or other Air Express service. We have negotiated lower air shipping rates and have passed the savings on to you. Even with our new lower rates (see rate chart on the order form), we realize that Express shipping is more expensive than ground shipping, but you will be amazed and pleased at how fresh and happy your plants will be on arrival.
Alaska & Hawaii
We welcome your orders and we know that many of our unique and cold hardy plants will be especially valuable to our Alaska customers. Most important to us is timely delivery so that your plants will be in good condition when you receive them. For most orders we use Priority Mail which has allowed us to lower our air shipping charges. Other services are available at an additional charge. Orders to Hawaii can be shipped at any time during our regular shipping season. Orders to Alaska will be shipped from April until June.
Fall Shipping
Many gardeners in the Southern states and California prefer to fall plant their trees and shrubs. Many of our plants are grown in containers and are available for fall shipping from mid-September to early November. Please look for availability information in our plant descriptions or contact us to arrange for fall shipping.
VISIT US & PICK UP YOUR PLANTS AT THE NURSERY
Order in advance or just come in! We will fill your order when you arrive. Our Nursery store is open Fridays and Saturdays from January 11 to May 17, 2008, from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm. We are closed on Sundays.
After May 19, we are open by appointment.
We will have many plants on display although we do not have a regular retail display yard. Bring your children! Enjoy a beautiful drive and see the best of Oregon's farmland.
