Rootstock Description: A dwarf rootstock for European and Asian Pears, OHxF 513 rootstock produces trees 10-12 ft. in height. It induces early bearing and is hardy to approx. minus 25°F. OHxF 513 grows well in most soils.
Pollination: For best crops plant at least two Asian Pear varieties or one Asian Pear and an early blooming European variety like Ubileen or Rescue.
Pests & Diseases: Asian Pears are generally quite disease resistant and easy to grow. Except for occasional problems with Codling Moth, we have not experienced significant pest problems with our varieties.
Hardiness: Asian Pears are hardy to minus 25°F. USDA Zone 4.
